Lecture and Booksigning

Date: Thursday July 19th
Time: 6 PM
Price: Free to the public beginning at 5:30 pm

On Thursday, July 19th at 6 PM all those interested in Civil War history are invited to help us celebrate the publication of The Last Siege: The Mobile Campaign, Alabama 1865 by park friend Paul Brueske. Currently the Head Track and Field Coach at the University of South Alabama, Brueske has studied the Mobile Campaign intensively for years and become an authority on the important clashes between Union and Confederate forces which occurred in the closing months of the Civil War. His book, published by Casemate Publishing, explores the war’s last major campaign and the sites, such as Blakeley, where its pivotal events played out. Brueske will speak briefly about the book and be available to sell and sign copies. Admission to the event is offered free of charge to the public, though donations will be accepted.
